Floriol is a self-initiated CGI campaign built to demonstrate what a direct brand collaboration looks like under my art direction. Every asset ( the magnolia blossom, the rose hip branch, the frosted glass bottle) was built procedurally from scratch. No stock, no AI finishing. The brief I set myself: quiet, calm, botanical, premium. Something that could sit alongside editorial photography.
Ambient wide
The establishing image. The linen surface reads as dunes at this camera angle and scale. The bottle sits as a monolith. The decision to use fabric rather than a clean studio ground was deliberate: it gives the series a physical world to inhabit rather than a neutral void.
Magnolia hero
A fully procedural magnolia blossom — phyllotaxis stamen system, concentric petal whorls, SSS MaterialX shading, Vellum hair on the petal surface. The stem curves naturally because it was solved, not sculpted. Single diffused top-left light, nothing else. The restraint in the lighting is as important as the geometry.
Material studies
The frosted glass shader balances transmission roughness against specular roughness, the amber liquid glows through without the surface becoming transparent. The petal macro pushes the Vellum hair system to its limit: at this scale, each fibre reads as landscape. Both images exist to show what the materials can hold under scrutiny.
Overhead flat lay
The editorial shot. 100mm lens equivalent, orthographic feel. The magnolia bloom is oversized relative to the bottle — a scale decision that makes the botanical feel monumental rather than decorative. Rose hips scattered via a procedural system built on the same asset used in the pairing shot.
Rose hip pairing
The most saturated image in the series — intentionally. The rose hip branch was built with a Vellum wire solver so it settles naturally against the ground. The hips radiate outward behind the bottle, creating depth without symmetry. This shot earns its warmth because everything else in the series is restrained.
